This is a spacious house at a great location near Playa Chica and also near the old Puerto. It is just one street behind the beach, and therefore nice and quiet. Although the house hadn't been cleaned when we arrived in the evening, the friendly owner immediately arranged that it was cleaned the same night. The only thing that could be improved is the kitchen equipment and the bathroom: this is all very old and crappy. Two cooking plates and the oven did not function at all; frying pans were falling apart, just as the bathroom doors. Cutlery was very limited. For this reason, we rate the house with "only" 3 stars, and not more.
Mieders is an absolutely beautiful town in the middle of a beautiful valley. With the public transportation, It was easy to get around without a car.
The lodging is right in the middle of the town. Completely charming. The Bakery is a thirty second walk along with the grocery store, and multiple restaurants. Everything was clean, the experience was rustic, and our hosts, the Drindel's were very nice and flexible with our schedule. Highly reccomend
Very nice, comfortable appartment for 4 persons. It is located a little outside of the city center although it just takes you approx. 5-10 minutes to walk in the center.
The rooms were very clean and they provided linen and towels. We had the appartment on the ground floor where there is only little view but at least we saw the sea.
In the same building live the owners who were very friendly.
There is acutally not much to add for further improving the facility, maybe wifi would be nice but not really a must-have.
Very nice couple host. The bed was very comfortable. Bedroom with fridge and tv. The deck was very nice. Delicious breakfast. Highly recommended
Sober bungalow. Kitchen very bad equipment. Not sufficiant lightning. No vieuw outside. Only the bathroom was good.
We stayed two nights in the appartment. The hosts ar friendly, the appartment has enough space. But there are a couple of remarks. Based on the foto I expected a nice area but the house is located in a commercial area, which doesn't feel very comfortable. another thing that the appartment is at the first flour and there is balcn or something, so you feel yourself enclosed. third point is, it isn't cozy inside. It was not a nice experience.
Stay here if you can.
At least, it was perfect for us. Vernazza is a great location for all the surrounding villages, though staying IN Vernazza itself, down by the water, would be, I assume, nightmarish. Mobs and hoards of people all the time. If you're in Cinque Terre for nature, escape, and some tourism, we highly recommend this place.
Antonio does not speak a lick of English. We tried to call to see if we could check in early, and communication was impossible, as we speak no Italian. However, we headed up anyway, because the bus was running. We knocked on the door and there he was, a delightful, grinning man. He had no problem with us putting our bags in the room and coming back later, even though our arrival was a surprise. He showed us everything we needed, including the little path back down the mountain.
The studio is LITERALLY exactly as it is in pictures and perfect for a little getaway. The room is small, but if you're like us, you'll spend minimal time in it. Every morning we were up and out, and even evenings we stayed on the deck past sunset.
BE AWARE: The bus only runs up and down the mountain about 5 times a day. If you're hiking, as we were, the last bus being at 6:15 pm is no issue. AKA, we were exhausted and ate and went to bed. However, if you want to stay in town later, just know your options. There's a tiny taxi service, I believe, or you can walk. The walk up is HARD, but we did it once (jetlagged and tipsy!) and were okay.
Walking down is totally fine, easy road, so we never took the bus down.
Buy bus tickets at the tourist info right off the train, it's 1,5 there and 2,5 on the bus. Also, know your stop. It's MURO.
That's it. The view is amazing. The quiet is beautiful after days of people in the cities. When we were there the trails (easiest place to start from was up to San Bernandino, not down in Vernazz) were empty, but I imagine there are plenty of people there in the summer, so this room was the perfect silent escape. Birds and bees, literally, were all we heard. And a really confused rooster.
