Yes, this is a comfortable and clean room. The place is difficult to find, however, and you would be advised to arrive when the light is good.
Stanza pulita e in ottima posizione. Ci tornerei subito.
Clean room in great position. if I come back in London I choose this room another time! Recommended!
Once past the stairway, the place is clean room, compact room. If you are a good sleeper then this is perfect if you are on a budget. Well equipped for the price though and I would stay again.
It was a very cosy small room but it was all that we needed! The bed was very very comfy we slept like roses :)
The toilet didn't flush immediately but it was ok no bad odours or anything.. The bathroom/kitchen/hallway/room were clean! The room was above a curry restaurant but no bad odours at all! The location was perfect nearby the underground and busstops, but we like long walks and in the neighbourhood was a lot to discover too! I would definitly recommend this to young couples as ourselves or when you don't grand luxe cause you are out discovering London!
That's my 3rd time in Marcos flat (widegate Street), I would like to put 5 stars, but I can't the 2 last times I've been here I stayed on the 2nd floor, this time I had a room at the top floor and was...... nothing special! some problems with the heater (solved immediatly by Marcos) and the walls were really bad, I could listen everything from the other rooms. But believe me...... there is not a better location than here and Marcos is really helpful!!! I'll come here again in the future....but at the 2nd floor!
Great location, you can enjoy major London attractions without using bus or tube. Easy check-in and check-out. The room and whole appartment is well equipped - in the kitchen there is all you might need during your stay. In the flat there are a few rooms that are rented, so you share the bathroom and kitchen. Those common parts are frequently cleaned so all is very neat. The room itself is nice and cosy. Liverpool Street Station within 1 minute walk, numerous restaurants and pubs just nextdoor. Highly recommended!
Friendly reception staff, room very small but ok, prime location
Had some confusion with check-in time, but after showing all my paperwork which agreed a certain check-in time the receptionist sorted things out in 30mins. The room itself is very nice and spacious but extremely cold. The bathroom is in need of repair... Had to leave early because I was freezing
I would not recommend this room to anyone. The room was tiny, half of the electronics were broken, the toilet didn't work, and the window didn't lock properly. Unless you only want somewhere in this area for a night I would look elsewhere.
Room is small (8'x12'), but very clean and suitable for someone traveling. Every room has a window, and the walls are thick enough that you don't hear your neighbors. Safe and close to the Liverpool Station, so tube and major bus routes are accessible without having to transfer to other lines. The room had a bed, night table, closet, dorm refrigerator, small table and chair, so it was a bit crowded and I had to move table and chair. Linens were clean and they furnish two huge towels, but no washcloth, so bring your own. The room also had an electric radiator, which worked very quickly to heat the room. The shower room was separate from the toilet, which is good because it doesn't tie up both when one is in use. The shower also used a point-of-use water heater, so you never ran out of hot water. It also had a small kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, pots, pans and table ware. All in all it was a very good experience as far as inexpensive London hotels go.
The only problems I could spot were that either the keys were not cut accurately or the locks were loose on the inside, because I had to jiggle the keys to make them work and the lady at the reception desk said other guests had the same problem. They did work, though, it just took a little time to learn the right way to jiggle them. Also the carpet on the stairs needs to be replaced because on some steps the tacks had torn loose, which could cause someone to trip and fall while they were carrying luggage up the steps (there is no lift). I was pleased enough so that I rebooked for four days on my return trip, so none of those were deal-breakers for me, even though the stairs were a bit hard on my knees (I'm an old guy in my 60s and I took too much luggage with me, as usual).
