Chris is a very good host! He does his best to meet you personally, gives an answer to every question and has some good advice about must see's, places to visit and the neighbourhood. Harlem is a very charming upcoming neghbourhood with a lot of nice restaurants and bars and very friendly people living there.
The appartment is cosy, spatious and in very good shape.
We had a wonderful stay here in a beautiful area of Harlem, brown stone houses, tree lined streets. The apartment is great and only a short walk to Central park, and many other things to see in Harlem, ate at some great local restaurants like social corner and Chez Lucienne. Chris is a fantastic host and provided everything we needed. The apartment is very comfortable and beats staying in a hotel room. Thanks Chris
We have had a wonderful stay at the appartment of Chris. It is situated in a very upcoming part of Harlem. The neighbourhood felt more than save and provided a quiet get-away from the very lively city downtown. Nice restaurants just around the corner (Il Cafe Latte, Corner Social, The Red Rooster, Sylvia's). The place and atmosphere felt like "home" and like really being a part of NY. Christopher is a very friendly host and the owner of the building, Bill, is also a very nice guy. We have had a great conversation with him about the history of the neigbourhood and the people that live there. I would recommend it to anyone that is looking for an authentic stay in New York, in a very nice area, only a few minutes walk to the subway to get you anywhere you want downtown.
We absolutely loved our two week stay in Harlem, NY.
There are nice restaurants in the neighbourhood and it's really close to the subway station. Also, it's walking distance from the Apollo Theater where you can go to Amateur Night every Wednesday: totally worth it!
Chris was not there when we arrived, but Bill took care of us really well!
The studio is situated in a very quiet and residential street and block of Harlem.
The basement studio, set in a five-story brownstone rowhouse, has a private entrance ( a few steps downwards). The apartment is nice decorated with personality and respect for the character of the house. Between the Apollo theatre ( don't miss the night of the amateurs on wednesday) and the free open air swimming pool in Central Park. Close by supermarkets, restaurants, meals on wheels, coffee bars. Il caffe latte just around the corner serves excellent breakfast. Walking distance to the subway. A place to return !

10 days spent and 10days of good nights sleep. Nice area with close underground stations. Good support from staff and owner! My recommendations.
Great location and friendly host. The studio is a bit run-down. Would recommend to people who want to visit NY on a shoe-string and don't mind an uncomfortable bed.

We had a wonderfull week in NYC thanks to choosing this apartment.
Great hospitality from Chris and his neighbours made us really feel at home.
The appartment lies in a quiet and nice part of the city close to subway and is indeed a safe place to be also in the evening.
Just around the corner there is a good restaurant and next to the subway a good supermarket that is always open.Very handy when coming home late.
We hope next visitors will have as much fun as we had as this place is real value for money. Thanks Chris !

My stay was excellent. The studio was bigger than I thought it would be and was fine for 2 people. Loved the location. Got a good feel of the area and felt safe. Subway was very close so getting around was great. The local bus m60 goes directly to the airport. Regular fare is $2.50 and just as fast as a cab. Chris was lovely and helpful. Would do it again.
