Check in was at 3pm and Carole met us. It was nice having a washing machine (which you need to ask her to explain how to use) and it is VERY central, next to the St. Lazare train station and the Roissy Bus stop to CDG. Bed was okay, reasonably clean.
Extremely noisy on some nights, several bars below, loud garbage collection around 5:30am every other morning. Two sex shops on the street and some dubious looking beggars/prostitutes/crazy people but nobody ever bothered us in the least.
Apartment is a bit small so would be a good idea if it were decluttered of some of the things inside.
Nice, cozy appartment, the location is good (near a train and metro station!)
Contact with the host Carole was pretty.
Had a nice stay in Paris here!
Nice place, small but comfortable, very central. We could walk to all the big attractions, like Montmartre and the Eiffel Tower. It was also very easy to get to the airport. I will defently recomend this place. Thea and Margit.
We had a lovely stay at Caroles place.
The location was splendid for getting to all the places we wanted to go in Paris. The saint-lazare metro/train hub just next door made it possible to get to any of Paris' 18 or so metro lines within 5-10 minutes. In essence the entirety of things we wanted to see in Paris was within 30 minutes reach, with the notable exception of Versailles that took about 1~ hour due to RER strikes.
The place itself, while not of the highest standard, is more than good enough for young travellers like us. With a small but functional kitchen we could even make breakfast there before heading out.
We recommend this place for anyone going to Paris for their vacation.
This was a lovely studio in a prime location. Carole was a fantastic host providing us with all that we needed. To add to this, I left my coat behind and Carole sent it to me all the way from Paris to the UK. Highly recommended!
Carole's studio is small but fine and very central. It's next to the St. Lazare Station, so the metro is just two minutes away. If you're more the walking type: it took us about 10 to 15 minutes to get to the Louvre and about 15 to 20 minutes to get to the Eifel Tower.
To stay a couple of days in Paris I would definitely recommend this place.
Was the Best place that could found in Paris.... 100% recommend it.
It was very clean and the location is great.
Thanks Again Carole
We stayed for 6 nights at Carole's nice little studio. It is perfectly located near St. Lazare station ( around the corner). We could relax every evening with dvd's after hours and hours strolling in and around Paris. Once there was a water problem in the building and Carole worked on a quick solution. Sometimes we ate in the studio, on the cooking plate you can make simple breakfast or dinner ( pancakes, soup, boiled eggs ) and made use of the bed as a gigant sofa. In the street there is a good Thai restaurant, in the nearby streets a Monoprix, lots of other restaurants and our special: Yio, a sushi snackbar. St. Lazare is perfect for shopping for all budgets: you can buy your ever wanted Prada bag at La Fayette but lucky enough there are also great shops and boutiques with affordable prices such as the Japanese Uniqlo.
My daughter and me just stayed at Carole's place for 6 days.
The appartment was fine and the area very good - close to a well-connected metro station and with nice cafes etc.
The service from Wimdu and Carole'was excellent, so we can surely recommend the appartment and Wimdu ;-)
Location! Location! Location!
We enjoyed our stay so much last year that we came back for a second time to the little studio nestling in the heart of the Saint Lazare area. Convenient for the train and metro only 5 minutes walk and you can catch a number 20 (from the bus terminus just past MacDonald's) which will take you directly to the Louvre, the Musee D'Orsay and the Gare de Lyon. If you like Kebabs and chips you can buy them for 5.50 euros in the Kebab diners in rue Amsterdam 3 minutes from the studio and there is a restaurant right next door plus a very popular Chinese restaurant a few doors away. . The hostess Carole Pilato is a kind, helpful and friendly person and in terms of location and price this tiny pied a terre couldn't be better placed.
