Interaction with Guests
I meet guests when they check in, and say good bye when they leave. Apart from that I do not usually meet or socialise with guests. However, once or twice per year Clare and I invite our guests to our home for an evening meal.
Grove Park is a commuter suburb of London. It has shops and cafés clustered around the railway station. Chinbrook Meadows is just around the corner from the railway station and has two play areas for children, tennis courts, and a charming brook meandering through.
The walk to Grove park station is 650 metres and takes 5 - 10 minutes. Train links to central London are fast and regular, departing every 15 minutes. For local journeys there is a bus stop opposite the railway station.
Journey times by train to central London are:
London Bridge - 15mn,
Waterloo East - 20mn,
Charing Cross - 25mn.
The last train home leaves Charing Cross at 00:48. If you miss the last train, a night bus leaves every 30 minutes (every 20 minutes Friday and Saturday night) throughout the night from Trafalgar Square to the bus stop opposite Grove Park Station.
An oystercard is the simplest and usually cheapest way to move around London. It is valid on nearly all rail, underground, tram and bus journeys within London (a notable exception is the Heathrow Express). To use an Oystercard you must buy credit, and each time you make a journey the cost of that journey is taken from the credit. But the really good news is that there is a daily price cap. For adults travelling within Zones 1-4 the daily price cap is £7.70. And for children under 16 the daily price cap is £1.50.
On the "Transport for London" website search for "visitor oyster card" to find out how to buy your Oystercards before you travel to London, and how to apply for child photo oystercards for under 16s.

We had a great stay in Tom and Clares flat and in London. There is everything you need around Grove Park Station and the train takes you within 20 min to central London. Excellent! We hope to come back one day.
Our trip to London was very fine. The Flat was clean, friendly and very good located for our daily tours. The children were happy to go only a few minutes to Railway-station or supermarket, they enjoyed their "childrenroom"and missed nothing.
I´m sure that we will come once again.
Thank you very much
A very nice stay. Large, clean and comfortable.
Within a reasonable range of the city center by Tube, Train and bus.
Thank you for your interest!
I stayed at Tom's place for a weekend with my friends from 3 to 5 january 2014. It was the best place till now in london. It was awesome. Hats off to Tom and his team. It was very neat and clean. It is a best place to stay for a family with children. The surroundings were very calm and safe. It was very easily accessible to Central london with trains and bus. The house contained every small items for a perfect stay in London. The beds, living room, kitchen were great.
Tom was very friendly and communicative. I loved his Dog meg who joined tom for a walk while handing over the keys to the room.. It was so cute and lovable. I will certainly recommend a stay again in London in his apartment. It would give a complete 100% rating to the room as it was so good and comfortable. The finest part was the Guest book which was so cute filled with very lovable wordings from different guests. Train station was just 8 min walk from the house. Central london was easily accesible in 10 mins. ( London bridge ). From there it was just easy to reach waterloo or stratford in less minutes. The surroundings had a good kebab house for a short dinner in the night.
Bathroom was very well equipped with all electronic items like hair dryer and plug points, linens, antiseptic cleaning items. etc..,
Kitchen was well equiped with utensils for cooking, having a good english breakfast etc., The living room was very good for a family to play activity games, poker, while listening to music. The bedroom was good organised with cubboards, table, lamps spring back beds etc.,
On the whole it was a wonderful time in Tom's place with a rememberable stay for a weekend with my friends.
Greetings from Germany
The flat is perfectly equipped. We were a group of six people and didn´t miss anything!
Grove Park station is ten minutes walk away. You can also find a supermarket and cafes close to the station.
We would recommend the flat to everybody!
We have had a wonderful holidays in London, and Tom & Claire's apartment has been a basic ingredient of the success. We had everything we needed, plenty of space, quietness, comfortable furniture, a well-equipped kitchen, wifi connection... and a couple of amazing hosts, who did everything to make sure we were happy at the apartment.
The apartment is very finely connected with the city center, takes no more than 25 min to get to Trafalgar Square by train, there are bus lines that can also be helpful and it's only a nice walk from Greenwich. We made the most of our stay thanks to the easy mobility that we had from Pegley Gardens.
I strongly recommend to everyone coming to London for holidays to stay with Tom and Claire and puiblicy show my gratitude and appreciation for their kindness.
I can not think to come to London again for a short stay and not to stay in Tom's gorgious flat. It was awesome experience as Tom showed great hospitality and utmost care. The flat contained every tiny thing one could possibly need and Tom did everythging to make the stay comfortable. Thanks Tom.
We had some wonderful days during our stay in London in Tom & Claire appartement.
The appartement was nice and clean and everything we needed was in the appartement. The free wifi was gladly used bij our children to keep up with friends and we could used it to plan our next day and book some activities.
The beds were good, everybody slept wel, and also the bathroom was very nice.
There are some supermarkets nearby (5 min walk) and also a nice Pup and two places for an englisch breakfast. From Grove Park station (5 min walk) you have a local train to london city.
What we also liked was the the appartement is in a local area, which mean that you meet the "real" local people in the supermarket, the Pup, restaurant, who were all very friendly.
We enjoy our stay very much, and would recommended to everybody who looks for a nice appartement for there stay in London.
