This is a very good apartment - large rooms, plenty of space, comfortable beds and furniture, excellent kitchen with most things you would need. (It would have been nice to have had a teapot, but I am English, so teapots are maybe a bigger part of my life than most people's). It is well looked after and was cleaned thoroughly each week. The internet connection was a bit haphazard but could always be reset quickly.
Rosa is very kind. For instance, she provided quick and effective help when one of us had a minor injury out in town.
Palermo is a fine city and the apartment is within 15 minutes on foot of just about anything that any visitor would want to see in it. There are shops, restaurants, a market and a supermarket in the immediate neighbourhood. The view from the balcony is fantastic - lots going on and great fun to watch it. There is a first-class and completely authentic and unpretentious restaurant (Zia Pina) just across the road.
The only possible negative side to the apartment - and we were there over a month - is that Palermo is a very lively place and the apartment is right in the middle of where it is liveliest. The stretch from via Chiavettieri to the Vucchiria market is the main focal point for young people in the evenings and the apartment overlooks the busiest part of it. It can become noisy, especially at the weekend. Take earplugs.
