This is a very clean, simple and well located two-bedroom apartment. It is close to a metro station and you can easily walk through to the center of the city. There are also some very nice local places to eat and drink and good supermarket nearby. Fernando and Cynthia were very helpful and made our stay enjoyable.
A very good basic place to stay and enjoy Barcelona.
Hello, Ana Watson!
This is the short summary of our attitude about the apartments we stayed in Barcelona, having booked it through your service. It is Sleek Apartment Near Magic Fountain. Its adress is Calle de la Palma 10 in Barcelona. The owner is Fernando Aguado.
The apartments are situated in a very quiet place, but at the same it is very close to the centre. At the time we arrived Cynthia, who was an assistant of the owner, met us and gave all the necessary information we needed concerning the apartments. It was clean, simply furnitured but in a comfortable way. On the whole we liked these apartments.
There were just some points that made us feel uncomfortable the first 2 days. The central heating did not work and it was very cold in the flat. The television did not work either. The iron and hairdryer were of no use because of its bad state. The iron surface was ruined and the hair-dryer began to burn instead of working.
It was strange to understand that waiting for our arrival for some hours inside the apartments it did not occur to the assistant to check if the central heating works at least. Though she did not forget to take 20 euro fee for our late arrival after 20:00 and left us in the frozen apartments in the fall time.
But after we applied to Cynthia, they sent us a worker next day who solved all the problems I have mentioned.
Due to it we were satisfied with the apartments and the service given in general.
Great place, in poblesec, not noisy! When we arrive at 1 pm. after a night flight, the Appart was not ready and the cleaning was not done , but we could left our luggages! We had the Appart around 4 PM. Tired but glad whith the cleaning! The girl who manaige the location is very Nice and helpfull! The Appart could have a big mirror somewhere and a shelf in the bathroom! Very good place!
This apartment was fine but not great. It was a little dirty, and our pillowslips had not been washed properly (other people's hairs on the pillows...). It was down a backstreet that made us a little nervous at night. The second bedroom also was a little hot at night, as the air conditioning unit didn't cool it very well (but fine for the main bedroom, which had its own air conditioner unit).
It was a little intimidating to have to give a credit card number for the 200euro security deposit - and being made to sign a contract in Spanish if you don't speak the language. There was also a threat to charge an additional 40euros if you forgot to take the rubbish out or wash the dishes before you left, despite having paid a cleaning fee.
On the positive, there were a number of super restaurants within walking distance on Blai (the pedestrian street off Paral-lel). It was easy to walk or metro to the centre (Rambla or Barri Gothic) and other sights. Also only a short walk to the Magic Fountain.
Great apartment, clean, quiet! So close to Paral-lel street and nearest metro station. Also, on the other side to University. Fernando (or his agent Cynthia) are very friendly in whole communication from booking till leaving. I highly recommend this apartment!
We stayed in this apartment in February 2013. It’s a clean and nice apartment in a quit part of the city. Of course, it’s still a city and don’t misunderstand this with total silence. You will hear the music from neighbors and of course noise in the street in the morning. But it’s a dead-end street, so for a city quit.
The apartment is refurbished recently with IKEA stuff only, so we felt quite at home ;o). We actually have the same bed and microwave. The other side of this is that I expect it to be broken or damaged quickly. It’s quite recently decorated, but we already see some damages here and there.
The Pro’s: The apartment is clean, nicely decorated. It has WIFI. Kitchen has all we need for preparing breakfast. Shower is spacious and hot and heating works fine (in Summer you have Airco). Beds did sleep very well. Sufficient socket outlets for our electrical devices. Enough lights. It’s just 300 m walk (little bit slopes) from a main street with the metro stop (Poble Sec) and at walking distance from the Ramblas (2 km), Magical Fountains and MNAC (600 m) and the shopping mall in the Arena (900 m).
The Con’s: It’s not a big apartment, the second twin bed is actually under the bed (as on the photo) and when you have the two beds in the room it’s full. The main bedroom is big enough and has a large cupboard. Also, the couch has only two places, so if you are with 4 people, 2 have to sit on the ground or on the chairs. Also, the kitchen (in the living room) is too small to create large dinners. However, with a family with 1 or 2 younger kids it’s very fine and we had no intentions to cook dinners.
We recommend this apartment.
Tip: Rent a bike at budgetbikes. It’s fun to explore the city that way.
